Tyke House League Festival

• Rather than the traditional tournament atmosphere the Tyke Division will be run as a festival with emphasis on fun and participation.
• Fair play for all participants will be the central goal.
• All teams will play 4 games, 2 on Saturday and 2 on Sunday.
• All participants will receive an award at the conclusion of their last game.
• All participant awards will be exactly the same.
• Ideally a ten team tournament will be the goal for this season, but can adjust to accomodate any number of teams.

• All games will run one hour of scheduled ice with 3 – 10 minute stopped time periods.  A two minute shift change buzzer will be used for efficient player rotation.

• Off sides will be counted however no icing calls will be made in order to keep the flow of the game.Penalties will be one minute in length. Equal rotation of all players will be encouraged and the final score will be kept, however will not have any impact on the tournament.

• Two referee system will be used. If player rotation has to be monitored because coaches are not adhereing to the fair play code (equal ice), and an infraction is noticed the offending coach can be removed from the tournament roster for the remainder of the event.

• Travel permits and approved rosters are required from all participating teams.

• Teams must be ready to play 15 minutes before scheduled time.
